Guwahati: A man was trampled to death by a herd of wild elephants in Assam's Udalguri district.

As per reports, the incident took place in Dharamjuli village in the district, where a herd of wild elephants entered the village and during the ordeal, a person named Ranti Rajbongshi was killed.

Reports claimed that the elephants entered the village in search of food which has been affected by the recent floods caused by incessant rain in Assam.

Recently, in a similar incident, another man lost his life in Assam's Kamrup district as he was killed by an elephant.

The man was identified as Suren Pator, who worked as a daily wage labourer and he was the sole bread earner in his family.

While he was heading to his work, an elephant attacked him resulting in his death.
